“Unable to load MathType” error

Issues with MS Office environment (only Windows)

If your current Microsoft 365 version is not up to date, you may experience problems running the MathType. To solve theme, please:

Connectivity issues due to firewalls or proxies

If your internet connection is running behind a proxy, it can sometimes prevent MathType from working properly.

To quickly check your internet connection, please follow the steps below:

On Windows

  1. Right-click on the Start button and click Settings

  2. Go to Network & Internet > Proxy.

  3. See if the Use a proxy server option is on.

On macOS

  1. Navigate to the Apple menu > System Preferences, and click Network.

  2. Select the network service you use from the list (e.g., Ethernet or Wi-Fi).

  3. Click Advanced, then click Proxies.

  4. If nothing is checked under "Select a protocol to configure," it means you do not use a proxy server.
