MathType is unresponsive and unable to click any MT option

We recommend closing any MathType.exe or MathTypeLib.exe processes running in background.

Use Windows Task Admin or Resources Monitor tools to ensure all processes have been closed.

Issues validating the license

If your internet connection runs behind a proxy, it can sometimes prevent MathType from working correctly.

To quickly check your internet connection, please follow the steps below you can do the following:

On Windows

  1. Right-click on the Start button and click Settings.

  2. Go to Network & Internet > Proxy.

  3. See if the Use a proxy server option is on.

On macOS

  1. Navigate to the Apple menu > System Preferences, and click Network.

  2. Select the network service you use from the list (e.g., Ethernet or Wi-Fi).

  3. Click Advanced, then click Proxies.

  4. If nothing is checked under "Select a protocol to configure," it means you do not use a proxy server.
