Print quizzes in Nubric

Use Print quiz to open a printable version of a Nubric quiz with space for students to write their answers and work through the tasks. You can include an answer key and regenerate randomized questions before printing. The print dialog also lets you save the document as a PDF.

Before you begin

Requirements

• Sign in to Nubric.
• Have a quiz available in My Quizzes > Created quizzes.

Applies to

• Teachers and content creators preparing printed activities or PDF copies of their quizzes.

Steps

Open the printable quiz

1. Open My Quizzes > Created quizzes and locate the quiz.
2. Open its Share menu.
3. Select Print quiz.

Nubric opens the printable document directly. It includes the questions and space for students' answers and calculations.

Review the document

1. Check the questions, mathematical notation, page layout, and answer space.
2. If you want to include the answers, select Include answer key at the top of the page.
3. For randomized questions, select Regenerate if you want another version, then review the updated document.

Selecting Include answer key adds the answers as extra pages at the end of the same document.

Print or save as PDF

1. Select Print at the top of the page.
2. In the print dialog, choose your printer or the option to save as PDF.
3. Review the page range and other print settings.
4. Complete the print or save action.

The available print settings and the name of the PDF destination depend on your browser and operating system.

Verify it worked

• After selecting Print quiz: The printable document opens with space for students' work.
• After selecting Include answer key: Answer pages appear at the end of the document.
• After regenerating: Review the generated values and check any included answer key against that version.
• After printing or saving: Check that the output contains the intended pages and includes or omits the answer key as required.

Options and variations

Prepare a student version without answers

Leave Include answer key unselected, or clear it if it is already selected. Check that the answer pages are absent before printing or saving the document.

Prepare an answer key

Select Include answer key to append the answers to the document. Use these pages for grading, or provide them after the activity so students can review their own work.

Generate another version of randomized questions

Use Regenerate to generate another version of questions that use random variables. Review the new values before printing or saving.

Save each version you want to keep before regenerating again. If you include an answer key, check that it corresponds to the questions in the version you distribute.

Share a quiz with other educators

From the quiz's Share menu, select Share with my peers to share the quiz with other educators through a link or publish it in the Public or Organization Content Bank. See Share quizzes in Nubric.

Common errors

Answers appear in the document intended for students

Clear Include answer key at the top of the printable quiz. Check that the answer pages no longer appear, then select Print again to print or save the student version.

The values do not change when you select Regenerate

Check whether the question uses random variables. Fixed values written directly in the question do not change when you regenerate it. Random generation can also produce values that have appeared in a previous version.
