Install the LearningLemur Add-on for Google Classroom
Reading time: 1minIf your institution does not support Google Classroom add-ons, you can still use LearningLemur via learninglemur.com. You can check what you need to use add-ons in Google Classroom here. If this is your cae, please take a look at Assign LearningLemur quizzes through Google Classroom (without the add-on).
When to use this: Use this guide if your institution supports Google Classroom add-ons and you want to install the LearningLemur add-on to attach quizzes directly when creating assignments.
What you'll achieve: You will install the LearningLemur add-on and confirm that it appears in the Google Classroom assignment editor.
Before you begin
Requirements
- A Google account with a Teacher role in Google Classroom
- A Google for Education plan that supports Classroom add-ons (see Google's official documentation for details)
- Permission to install add-ons, or approval from your Google Workspace administrator
Steps
Check if your institution supports Classroom add-ons
- Confirm that your institution uses a Google for Education plan that supports Classroom add-ons
- If you are unsure, contact your Google Workspace administrator
- Review Google's official documentation about Classroom add-ons if needed
Install the add-on from Google Classroom
- Open Google Classroom
- Start creating a new assignment
- Click the Add-ons button (puzzle-piece icon)
- Search for LearningLemur
- Click Install and follow the authorization prompts

Google may ask you to grant permissions during the installation process.
Install from the Google Workspace Marketplace (alternative)
If you prefer installing outside the assignment workflow, you can install the add-on from the Marketplace.
- Go to the Google Workspace Marketplace
- Search for LearningLemur
- Click Install
- Complete the authorization process
Open the LearningLemur add-on in an assignment
- Open Google Classroom
- Create or edit an assignment
- Click the Add-ons icon
- Select LearningLemur
Verify it worked
- LearningLemur appears in the Add-ons list when editing an assignment
- Selecting the add-on opens the LearningLemur interface inside Google Classroom
Options and variations
- If you prefer managing quizzes directly in LearningLemur, you can assign quizzes to Google Classroom without installing the add-on. See: Assign LearningLemur quizzes through Google Classroom (without the add-on)
Common errors
You don't see the Add-ons icon in Google Classroom
Your Google plan may not support Classroom add-ons, or your admin may have disabled them.
LearningLemur does not appear in search results
Your Google Workspace administrator may have restricted Marketplace installations.
Authorization fails during installation
Log out of your Google account, sign in again, and retry the installation.
