Installation/uninstallation: MathFlow for oXygen

The following steps will guide you through the installation process. After running the installer, review the additional installation steps below to complete the configuration.
- Double-click the file MathFlow Universal 2.1 Installer (Build XXX).msi.
- Click OK to begin the formal installation wizard. Review each dialog and proceed through the wizard by clicking Next.
- The installer will give you a choice of where to install the files. By default, MathFlow will install into your Program Files (x86) folder.
- The installer will display a progress bar as files are copied.
- Click Finish when prompted at the end of the installation.
Once the MathFlow installation is completed, your system will contain the necessary MathFlow files and folders, which include the following:
- Documentation — the set of documentation files can be found as noted previously in the Overview section.
- Application files and executables — the Windows DLLs are placed in the
<path‑to‑mathflow>\resources\windows\64bitDLLdirectory. There is a single .jar file, MathFlow which is placed in the<path‑to‑mathflow>\javadirectory. - Customizable operator dictionary file, located at
<path‑to‑mathflow>\auxiliary.
Additional installation steps
Configuring oXygen for MathFlow
Configure oXgyen preferences to point to MathFlow installation and license file. From Options → Preferences → Editor → Edit Modes → Author → MathML, make sure the following is properly set up:
- MathFlow Installation Directory (where is MathFlow
- MathFlow License File (where's the license?)
- MathFlow Preferred editor (which Editor did you license?)
License file
In order to be able to use MathFlow you need to have a license file installed. Obtaining a license file from us is a two-step process; see the MathFlow Licensing section for complete details.
Character mapping
You may want to extend MathFlow use of fonts, symbols, and entities within oXygen by setting up a character mapping file. More detailed information on character entities and codes can be found in the Mapping Entity Codes and Characters sections.
Fonts
MathFlow may require additional mathematical fonts. Installation of these fonts, if required, is handled by the MathFlow installer without additional input.
To reinstall these mathematical fonts at a later date, you can find the font installer in <path‑to‑mathflow>\resources. Double-click MathType to begin font installation.
You have now completed the MathFlow for oXygen installation.
Testing your installation
When you have completed the installation, you can test it by starting oXygen and opening the file
<path-to-oxygen>\samples\docbook\v5\sampleMathMLandSVG.xml.
Try double-clicking one of the equations to open it in the MathFlow Editor. If you can open the MathFlow Editor you are now ready to begin using MathFlow for oXygen If the MathFlow Editor will not launch or you are experiencing some other problem after installing MathFlow please contact our support staff.
Once you have verified MathFlow is working properly, you will likely want to set up MathFlow to work with your own doctypes. Consult Math document type and Configuring MathFlow.

Uninstalling MathFlow for oXygen
To remove MathFlow follow this process:
- Choose Uninstall MathFlow Universal from the MathFlow 2.1 Universal submenu of the Windows Start menu.
or…
Open the Apps and Features control panel. Select MathFlow Universal 2.1 and click Uninstall, then Uninstall again.
- This will launch the MathFlow Universal 2.1 installer to remove MathFlow from your system. After the process completes, there will still be a mention of MathFlow in oXygen's preferences.
