Students answer this question type by writing a (usually long) response inside a text editor. This includes the possibility of inserting formulas using the MathType button. This question type is not automatically graded — teachers must review and manually grade the answers. Students will not receive their final quiz grade until this is done.

Use this type to create questions with randomized wordings, for example by defining random variables and using them in the question text. You only need to write the question statement and the CalcMe algorithm to generate, in this case, the representation of the function.
