The MathType icon is in the taskbar but MathType won't open when I click it Applicability The information on this page applies to: MathType for Windows Issue You're trying to open MathType, and can see its icon in the Windows Taskbar, but when you click the icon, the MathType window won't open: Reason In fact, MathType is already open. The blue line beneath its icon on the taskbar is an indication of this. The reason the MathType window won't respond to clicks is a combination of 2 things, described in the next section. Solution MathType is already open, but Windows thinks you're using multiple monitors. Maybe you are, maybe you aren't, but the solution is the same. Click the Windows Notifications icon, . There will be a group of Windows Settings buttons at the bottom of the Notifications pane. Click Project: In the Project pane, click PC screen only: Once you do that, the MathType window will either be visible so you can close the dialog, or you'll be able to click its icon in the Taskbar to bring it to the front. If you want to use multiple monitors after you do these steps, you may change your display configuration back to what you want it to be. MathType should behave after that.
